• Mixed C&D:

    • Construction and Demolition (C&D) materials containing both recyclable and non-recyclable materials that have not been separated. Mixed C&D generally comes directly from contractor projects and is often more difficult to process.

  • Source-Separated C&D:

    • A single kind of recyclable C&D material that has been separated from other C&D materials ON SITE by the contractor before it is transported to a receiving facility. When a job site has space for multiple containers, each one is specifically labeled and WORKERS ARE TRAINED on proper material placement to avoid CROSS-CONTAMINATION.
